Machismo
Machismo was formed in September 2006 under the name “Acoustic Solution” and immediately began writing songs at a steady rate. Since then, the band has spent time perfecting an ear opening brand of music that is sure to rival most. Whilst the band are constantly writing songs, their sound is evolving all the time, yet tp find their own niche the band have been experimenting with instrumental, indie and venturing into heavier sounds.
Machismo’s expression fueled live performance is definitely their asset as impressed strangers regularly leave as fans. After going through a name change in March 08 this virtue was recently recognised when the band fended off 11 other respected Cork bands to win the 2008 CIT Battle Of The Bands in April. Machismo have also qualified for the Cork heat of the “Sunday World/Blast Beat LA or Busk” competition taking place in late July.
The band have booked recording for early September and are planning on releasing a debut EP around December time. Expect good things from a group of friends who strive in their journey of becoming one of the most original acts around.
